Draft, pending legal review. This describes accurately what the platform does today. It has not been reviewed by a lawyer, and the tax treatment it assumes is still being settled. Do not rely on it as a final statement of your rights.
Don't
- Use the service to build something whose purpose is to harm people, such as malware, credential harvesting or tooling for fraud.
- Resell access. Your credit is for your own use. If you want to build a product on top of this, talk to us.
- Try to extract another user's data, or the provider keys behind the service.
- Automate the interface to a degree that degrades it for other people. There are rate limits.
- Upload someone else's code you have no right to, and ask us to process it.
The model providers have their own rules
Your prompts reach OpenRouter and the model you selected, and their usage policies apply to what you send. A prompt they refuse is refused regardless of what we allow.
What happens if you do
We will contact you first, unless what is happening is actively harming someone. Persistent or serious misuse means the account is deactivated, which stops sign-in but keeps your data.
Unspent credit on a deactivated account is refunded.
